20-yard and 30-yard dumpsters are named for the amount of cubic yards of waste that can fit inside. A 30-yard dumpster is one foot wider and 2.5 feet taller than the 20-yard. A 20-yard dumpster is typically the right size for roof replacements or garage/basement cleanouts. Opt for a 30-yard for more extensive renovations, construction projects, or cleanouts that include large/multiple pieces of furniture or debris.
